Baby and I's first "sore throat"

Okay... so this sounds retarded BUT I have to document it (if not only bc I am up and cant sleep). Had my first sore throat since being pregnant. This is a big deal because normally I get sore throats all the time with my allergies, so its pretty awesome I went this long without being sick. All good things must come to an end though and sadly the last few days have not been very fun. I never realized how incredibly painful a sore throat is when you cannot take ibuprofen for the swelling. On the bright side, tonight it seemed to be doing sooo much better. We had a get together for my Grandma and Grandpa Boer's birthdays and anniversary. Was a lot of fun to see the family. Hopefully I am feeling a lot more back to normal by tomorrow :0 )

I may have found the crib I am in love with.

Its a convertible crib from RH Baby and Child and is on sale right now. Its still a little spendy, but I can make curtains for it (similar to curtains in 4th pic) and it has the headboard area that I can paint on :0 ) It converts to a toddler bed (3rd pic) and Its exactly what I was envisioning.

Baby Moving, CA Baby Bump pics, and New Coach Diaper Bag.

Last night in bed I could feel baby for a good 10 minutes. Now how am I supposed to fall asleep after that haha. It was about 2am... Baby's a night owl like mommy. Ang took a few belly shots today. I am 15 weeks tuesday, but technically these are 14 week shots :0 ) I had a Christian "Palm Reader" today (long story) tell me she senses boy energies... but she also says it seems all the women in my family are very strong willed (she hit the head on the nail there), so it could be a strong willed little girl she is sensing haha. Weird. Who knows. She also said we are having 3 kids. I told her nope 2 and she just smiled and said we'll see...... hmmm. I also got an amazing deal on a Coach diaper bag/travel bag/purse yesterday at a Coach Factory store. Will post pics soon, but for now heres some pics I found online of it :0 ) It can also be used as a laptop case/bookbag for college. 18" (L) x 12” (H) x 5 ½” (W), Comes with a baby changing pad and lots of spaces for bottles. I'm in love with it!!!

Baby's First Plane Ride

Baby had his/her first plane ride (5 more in the upcoming weeks). I usually am really nervous flying, but I was particularly calm on this ride. Luckily I brought a couple books to read while I was on board. The lady ahead of me was cracked out on something or another and at one point actually was digginf through my purse without me noticing....um....shady!!! The landing wasn't too smooth, but L.A. was beautiful to descend into at dusk. 3 hour straight flight from Sioux Falls.... thats my kind of flight. Unfortunately the ride home to Santa Barabara took about as much time.... .

The Nursery....You can see our Dilemma with the walls. Suggestions welcome.

So sad I can't paint. Any advice on making the walls nursery friendly? We want to add a bay window on the wall where the bureau is. It really needs a window. That will help a lot with brightening the space I think. Also want to do white crib and white furniture. I have a large white bureau, white end table/shelf with drawers, and a white changing table with drawers so far (all old furniture I am painting/doctoring a bit). Need a crib and a glider chair. I think my mom and mother-in-law are hoping to get those. But anywho... Here is the room that will be our nursery. The last two pictures are from when the previous owners lived here. We haven't done much with it yet. You can't see in these pictures, but there is one full window in a nook to the right by the closet, and one skinny tall mini decorative window in the nook to the left (room has lots of odd angles). You can't tell from the pic, but it looks bigger in person (I think). Anywho.... thoughts on brightening up this room? Jordon won't let me paint because we don't want to devalue the house.

Bedding Dillema. Thoughts??

I know some of these are more girly, but I am in love with pink and green right now. Idealy we should probably get something gender nuetral in case our second child is the opposite gender.....I can always add pink/blue elements to one if I went that route. For a girl, pink is just too fun though.... I love pink (as anyone who knows me knows... :0 ) We will see what I come up with. What are your thoughts on these. Most of them have a nursery rhyme theme and would be on a white crib in a room with wood paneled walls. (I'll post a pic of the room our nursery will be in in a response note).

Valentine's Day, Visiting Grandparents, and Prenatal massage

SO Jordon and I celebrated Valentine's last week Tuesday since he was leaving Thurs. We went out to Minerva's. Had a steak, virgin pina collada, and tiramisu for desert.... Came home and Jordon finally watched the Notebook with me. I cried like a sobbing baby. I had never seen it. Such a sad movie. HORRIBLE acting by the main guy, but a great movie. Jordon got me a dozen roses and a prenatal massage. I got him chocolates and a really nice mattress topper. Okay I know thats sort of cheating because I get to use it too haha, but he's been saying how he hates our bed forever and now with all the baby stuff we are needing to accumulate we won't be buying a new mattress any time soon. he really like it. I also have something else in mind I want to surprise him with, but I have to figure out the details first.

This past weekend I went to Alvord since Jordon was gone in Honduras for Valentine's weekend and I had a lot of fun. Friday night I hung out with Lana, Steve, Emily (my mom's friend's daughter who was taking care of animals since my parents were in Florida), and her friend. We watched The Lovely Bones... not a good one for pregnant women to watch haha. Its about a 14 year old that gets murdered and tries to help her dad and sister find her murderer.

Saturday I visited my Grandma Boer and she let Lana and I go through some things that she is going to rummage off. I got 2 brass candlesticks that can go in my vintage nursery, some lawn decor, and some xmas decor. She also found nursery rhyme material for a blanket to make me for the Baby which i am really excited about. She made burgers and we all just chatted all night.

Sunday I went to see my Grandma and Grandpa Johnson and Jeff with Lana and Steve and Amara was there too. Grandpa showed me some of his latest cartoons which I loved. I should have taken pictures to share. He did a hillbilly caricature and some dr. seuess figures. He also was showing Steve some tunes on the Banjo he had out. Grandma had bought me a baby names book and a baby calander and she got a baby bouncer that is blue wo me and Lana can wait and see who is having the boy if any haha. We had roast and watched "Couples Retreat" which was hilarious aside from a few parts a tad akward to watch next to your grandparents haha. Oh well. That was a lot of fun getting to see them though. I wish I could have stayed longer, but the roads got bad so I had to detour down to Larchwood. The road from Hills to the Larchwood turn was almost completely one way traffic .....on the wrong side for me of course..... nto a very safe or fun drive, but luckily I made it home ok. Puppies too.

I went and used my pre-natal massage today at Spa 2000 and it was heaven. When you come in they give you a heated neck wrap and stuff to remove your makeup and after got a bottled water. The masseuse showed me some exercises after to help me stretch after I am at the computer for long periods of time.

I bought a bella band at Target today and a pregnancy black tank top. They basically just feel really long right now, which I love. I don't have much of belly at 14 weeks, but its definitely getting challenging to wear some things. I am packing because I leave Wednesday to stay with Angie Pangie, one of my best friends from high school, out in California for a week. She said its whale watching season so I am uber excited!!! Its been snowing non stop here it seems so me and baby are in need of a get away. It will help keep my mind off horribly missing and stressing over Jordon too, so I am really excited for it.

What would be fun Traits/Features to see in our Baby....?

I was reading Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine's Feb '10 edition and it talked about how it can be really fun to write out what traits/features you would like to see in your baby. So here goes...(just for fun ;0 )

I have a feeling we will have a ***blue eyed blonde haired*** baby. We both have blue eyes and both were VERY blonde when we were kids.

I think **BabY** might have a ***cowlick*** too. Jordon has a cowlick and so does my dad (Jordon's in front and my dad's is in the back). I think it would be cute on a boy, but I will feel bad if we have a girl with one hee hee.

I hope **Baby** gets Jordon's ***brains***, but my ***free spirit***.

I hope **BaBy** has Jordon's **long eyelashes** and some of his **height**. I think our children will be tall because I think i was supposed to be tall (evidenced by my big feet and long waist). Plus, my mom and dad are 6'0" and 6'4". Jordon is 6'4".

I hope Baby gets some of my family's **artistic abilities**, Jordon's **musical talent**, and my **vocal talent**.

I hope **BaBy** has a soft spot for people and animals that need love, as well as ***critical thinking skills*** teamed with ***empathy and sensitivity***.

I hope **BabY** will learn to be kind and patient with others..... (i.e. not get Jordon's temper haha).

Hopefully **BabY** won't be as stubborn as either of us either lol.

(im trying to find Jordon's baby pics to add here too :0 )

12 Week Ultrasound

Today was fabulous. We got to do our 12 week ultrasound. **BaBy** looked amazing and is actually 4 days ahead of normal which is fabulous. his/her little legs were unfortunately crossed and bundled up very tight so we didn't get to have any sneak peak of whether might be a boy or girl. Baby looked great though and even danced around for us. It was so amazing to see little hands moving around and mouth opening and closing. Here are some pics.
