Midwife Phonetag

So... Weather has been beautiful, but horrible all at the same time. I didn't make it to my 10 week apt. and have been playing phone tag with my midwife for a whole week. My last attempt resulted in finding out that the entire hospital had lost power due to the ice storm...... Guess I wait until Monday and try again. I am very excited for my 12 week appointment next week. I will get to do an ultrasound for that. Until then I am buried in research and writing for my thesis. So close to done!! I am excited to have a few weeks to relax and work on my photography webpage and artwork for my senior show.

Boy or Girl

So this is some sort of torture... taking an intelligent being... and basically having them carry around a present for 5 months, but telling them theres no way they can peak at it until 5 months go by. lol. My mom says boy... chinese astrology says girl. I am hoping maybe a tad more for a girl, but will be happy either way. I honestly have a feeling its a boy.... but maybe thats just because I have given up with everyone wanting a girl, but my mom going on and on its a boy lol. It will probably be a boy just so I can be annoyed that my mom was right lol. Ironically, I have seen a heck of a lot of really cute baby clothes for baby boys. I think I am just scared because I have no idea where to start with a boy because I have mostly girl cousins and all sisters and so....yah. Lol. I know though that God will bless us with whatever is meant to be... so the waiting game continues.... There is a SLIGHT chance we could find out next week during genetic testing.... but we will just see :0 )

I have been lookin at baby shower decor. I think I decided I might just help organize it since I will be out of school. I am already designing the cute cake I want to make :0 ) Trying to think where would be the best place to have it. Anywho.... that won't be until after we know if baby boy or baby girl is on the way so I have a lot of time to ponder.... :0 )

Cabin Fever

So I love our house and didn't think it was possible, but I am kind of getting sick of being in here all the time. Working on this paper in combo with the cold weather and not being able to tan has really been wearing me down.

I think part of the problem is I love the color brown so all our furniture and decor was brownish hues....which kind of all disappears into our brown wooden walls now. I am trying to think of ways to brighten up the living area. I have this vision down the road for light wood floors, bigger windows, lighter furniture and some bright colors.... maybe a fun green color of draperies and green and white throw pillows with glass coffee table and fun wall decor and flowers....

That will have to be a project for quite some time from now though since we unfortunately have our fair share of bills already lined up for this coming year. Necessary house fix-its, upcoming trips, and the deductible and necessities for baby are taking care of extra funds for now..... A girl can dream though.

I am excited for summer so I can do some work outside too. I really want to do some landscaping with bushes and plant a vegetable garden on the N. side of the property. :0 )

Anywho....nothing real exciting in baby land today. A few weeks from now we do some preliminary genetic testing and have our 12 week ultra sound. There is a slight chance we find out the gender then already which would be great because that would give me a whole new list of sewing projects to start.

I want to make curtains, a bed set, and some big fun throw pillows for the nursery. Just got sewing machine back from Helen (she was borrowing it), so I am excited to get on that.

First things first though....and that means finishing this darned honors paper.....Its going to eat up the rest of this month....and I am beginning to fear it may drift even into February if Nancy and Sal think it needs that time.....

I also need to figure out a way to pay for my student loans once they start up this spring. Hoping photography will take care of that... but it needs to be warmer before I can do much of that again...

All in due time one day a time..... :0 )

Day by Day. Basking in ....another Blizzard...?? Ugh .....

So today its blizzarding. I am sitting here with some tea and biscuits (cookies), getting ready to go hard at this paper again before sending it off to Nancy to look over. My GPA is solid enough to graduate as an Honor's Scholar so I am pretty psyched about that. Bummed though that it fell at a 3.79... I am thinking of taking another ind study to bump it to 3.8 since I have so many art projects to do for my show anyways and that will help my grad school aps.

Jordon's been thrilled because usually I hardly eat and am really picky, but since being pregnant it seems I know exactly what I want to eat and have the motivation to cook it (which equals home cooked meals for him... a definite bonus). Last night I did a hashbrown/green beans casserole that was pretty tasty and tonight I am thinking tuna casserole and veggies. Jordon and I have been trying to get into working out so I can stay healthy through my pregnancy too. We bought some weights, bands, a ball, and some dvds. The band workouts have been a really easy way for me to work out my arms. I got a prego dvd that has been fun too. I am pretty sure I am going to join Sanford Wellness this weekend as well. They have a tailored program for pregnancy. It consists of strength training, water aerobics, yoga, and then of course they have an indoor track I can walk on to top it off. The down side is it is way across town, but I am thinking if I can make it there for their M/W/F classes and I can do bands and weights the opposite days. I am excited for summer when I can just walk outside and use our community pool to do laps.

I really hate that it is so cold out, but days like today make it almost fun. Jordons home and the way the snow is falling on all the pine trees in our yard makes it look so magical out. I'm not sure the rare magical snow fall will convince me against applying to the University of Arizona and Southern Cali for grad school haha... but its a start. We want to be here for a few more years so our parents can be around while the kids are little. I'm not going to even know where to start when **BaBy** is born so its great that Becky and my family are pretty close by.

Anywho....enough rambling. Wish me luck on my paper. :0 )

Better this week...

o things have been going better this week I stil wasn't 100% Monday and tuesday, but a chiropractic adjustment helped a lot. My neck is still pretty stiff, but Jordon's been helping me keep muscle cream and stuff on it to help. I have some updating to do so here goes:

Tuesday:
Met up with Katie and Seth downtown at Michelle's to watch Jordon's cousin Jim play and sing. We then went to the piano bar and hung out for quite awhile. It was so much fun to get out of the house with friends after the blizzard and being sick.

New Year's Eve (thurs):
I was originally planning to party it up (as much as is possible pregnant...which I guess just means hang out and have fun) at the Ramkota exhibit hall and take in two bands that our friends from Larchwood play in. Unfortunately about an hour before it was going to start we found out they were allowing smoking this year (in previous years they didn't).... well I didn't want to expose **BaBy** to all of that so we formed plan B. This turned into Lana and Steve joining Jordon and I for an evening of Pizza Hut, Scattergories, and watching the ball drop on tv. It was a fun relaxing night :0 )

New Year's Day (Fri)
This was a fun day. jordon and I slept in, went to Barnes and Noble to read together, saw Where the Wild Things Are, and then came home to an evening of more reading together.

Today:
Yoga (got a prenatal video at B&N), tea, blogging, and web design :0 )

Tomorrow I greet at church and then hopefully going to catch Avatar in 3D :0 )
